Lance Bass Hits NYC for Gay Pride Weekend

June 28, 2009

After a “Sticky” evening with Semi-Precious Weapons, Poison Ivy headed to Times Square’s Nokia Theatre Saturday night for Gay Pride Weekend’s opening party, sponsored by Manhunt!

We guess ‘N Sync‘s Lance Bass had the same idea!

P.I. spotted Bass drinking Red Stripe and dancing with a few male friends, before asking what he’s been up to in the city.

“I’m producing a bunch of TV shows,” Bass said.

Although Bass wouldn’t divulge any titles, he did provide a cute quip:

“Stay tuned!”

Hah!

Semi Precious Weapons Serve Up "Sticky Champagne" at NYC Gig

June 28, 2009

The boys are back in town!

Our favorite glam rockers Semi Precious Weapons returned to NYC’s Hudson Hotel Saturday night for a blazing, high-heeled set that included never-before-played jam “Sticky Champagne.”

“Sticky with champagne, it’s okay, it’s your birthday!” frontman Justin Tranter screamed from the stage. (It actually was drummer Dan Crean‘s birthday.)

“Sticky” just might be SPW’s best song yet!!!

Spinning tunes before the set was Lady GaGa inspiration and resident DJ Lady Starlight (bottom photo), while Poison Ivy also caught up with our old friend Chet Cannon of Real World: Brooklyn (second to last photo).

Check out a snippet from SPW’s “Sticky Champagne,” below. Is this their best song yet?? Let us know what you think in the comments!

311 Take Central Park

June 26, 2009

It was a nineties rock revival in Central Park Thursday night.

Rap-rock-ska-funk band 311 hit the Park’s SummerStage for an evening of tunes, boos, and so much pot smoking in the crowd that it was often difficult to see the stage!

All you had to do was inhale and u were high!!!

The boys played “Jackpot,” “Creatures for Awhile,” “We Do It Like This,” and tons of other jams, including their 1999 crossover hit, “Come Original.”

“What a fuckin’ night, ya’ll!” yelled lead singer Nick Hexum, at the end.

Check out a glimpse of the fun below.

Iman, Korto Momolu Celebrate Sam Fine DVD Launch

June 21, 2009

Legendary makeup artist Sam Fine has dolled up some of the world’s most beautiful women: Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell and Vanessa Williams to name a few.

So when we heard that Fine was hosting a party at the Plaza Thursday night to celebrate his new “The Basics of Beauty” DVD, hosted by supermodel Iman (top photo, with Poison Ivy), we had to check it out.

And we were quick to learn we’re not Fine’s only fan!!

Taraji Henson, Wendy Williams, Deborah Cox, RuPaul and Project Runway season five runner-up Korto Momolu (bottom photo) were just a handful of big names in the room.

Momolu chatted with us for a minute about what she’s been up to, post-PR.

“I’m designing,” said Momolu, who sported an animal-print bag with a bullhorn handle. “You know me, with my African.”

Momolu’s line is set to debut this fall, she says, and if it’s anything like her bag, we cannot wait to see more!

In the meantime, you check out her fantastic jewelry collection for sale here.
