Adam Yauch Talks ‘Weird’ New Beastie Boys Record

February 26, 2009

Beastie Boy Adam Yauch has offered a few details about the band’s anticipated new record Tadlock’s Glasses, due this fall.

Says Yauch:
“It’s a weird record.”
And your past records weren’t???
Glasses will feature “a lot of rhyming and playing and sampling – all combined,” Yauch adds, explaining the reason for the obscure title.
“We had a bus driver years ago who used to drive Elvis’ back up singers. His name was Tadlock and Elvis gave him a pair of glasses which he was very proud of. So for some reason that title has just been bouncing around.”
Ah ha!
