Steven Tyler Checks Into Rehab; Denies Split From Aerosmith

December 23, 2009

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has checked into rehab for an addiction to prescription pills, according to a personal statement from the singer.

“With the help of my family and team of medical professionals I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford,” Tyler said.

Tyler also spoke to Rolling Stone to squash the many rumors circulating a split from Aerosmith, saying “I wish to set the record straight and say that I have read reports of a rumored two-year hiatus and want to be clear that this is completely false and I will enthusiastically be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled.”

We hope he gets well soon.

Aerosmith Hit the Studio

March 14, 2009

It’s been nearly a decade since we’ve heard new music from Aerosmith, but all of that is about to change!!

The rock legends will be hitting the studio later this month with producer Brendan O’Brien, who’s cut records for everyone from Springsteen to Pearl Jam to Rage Against the Machine.
Guitarist Brad Whitford is just as stoked as us.
“So far it’s going great,” Whitford says. “Everybody is pretty excited about the amount of new music and the quality of it. We’ll have a true-to-the-spirit of Aerosmith record on our hands. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long.”
Hopefully not!!
