Busta Rhymes, GZA Added to Rock the Bells

Busta Rhymes, The GZA and The Knux have been added to the already fantastic lineup for 2009’s Rock the Bells Festival.

Already performing are Big Boi, Nas, Common, The Roots and Damian Marley.

The fest will kick off June 27 in Chicago and hit 9 other major cities this year.

Big Boi, Nas Common, The Roots and Damian Marley will highlight this summer’s Rock the Bells festival, which begins June 27 and closes out August 9.

Also on the bill are Reflection Eternal (Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek), The RZA and Sage Frrancis, as well as some “surprise performances.”

Kanye Does SXSW

Forgetting about his legal woes for a night, Kanye West stopped by the South by Southwest music festival in Texas Saturday for two lengthy performances, the first of which included banging cameos by Common and Erykah Badu.

“It feels so good to rock for you tonight,” said West, who attending the conference mainly to promote his label’s artists, Kid Cudi and Consequence.

West performed many hits off of 2004’s College Dropout, before stopping by Perez Hilton‘s SXSW party later in the night for an impromptu second performance.

Microsoft Launches Clothing Line?

Rapper Common is collaborating with Microsoft to launch a clothing line called “Software.”

Hah, Software!

Get it??

Though these tees look like your basic Old Navy threads, the site description suggests otherwise:

“With retro logos, classic photos and geek-chic iconography, Software is a clothing line that taps the nostalgia of when PCs were just starting to change our lives.”

In other words, fashions from the late seventies!
