Matt Giraud Exits Idol

April 30, 2009

Even after receiving a second chance at Idol victory, Matt Giraud wasn’t able to earn enough votes to advance in the competition.

But don’t feel bad, Matt!
Even rock crooner Adam Lambert was sucked into the bottom three. (What the F was that?)

Giraud, the JT-esque piano dueler from Kalamazoo, MI, definitely exited the stage with class.
“I’ll remember being the cat with nine lives,” he said.

Judges’ Save Used for Matt Giraud

April 17, 2009

It was a rollercoaster ending on American Idol Wednesday night, as the viewer-ousted Matt Giraud was unanimously saved by all four judges, following a truly awful rendition of “Have You Really Ever Loved a Woman” by Bryan Adams. (It was movie week, and Quentin Tarantino mentored.)

“It’s good news,” Simon Cowell finally said, after noting that Giraud’s performance was much better the first night.

“Guys, girls, I wouldn’t be so quick to congratulate him,” Cowell continued. “No. 1, two people are going home next week now. Second piece of bad news: Next week, it’s disco week.”
