Queen Considering Adam Lambert for Singer

May 23, 2009

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert performed with Queen on the AI season finale Wednesday night, and the 27-year-old’s singing chops were so impressive that the band is now considering him to be their frontman!!!Link

“Amongst all that furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk,” says Queen guitarist Brian May. “It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”
Lambert seems equally enthused about the idea!!!
“Queen is one of my all-time favorite bands,” he says. “I would love to work with [them].”

Katy Covers Queen at New York Show

April 8, 2009

Queen taught me everything I know,” said a rambunctious Katy Perry, before diving into a cover of the rock legends’ “Don’t Stop Me Now” at New York’s Irving Plaza Tuesday night.

The pop starlet, 24, was on night two of her three-night Irving residency and plowed through almost two hours of hits, including “Hot ‘N Cold,” “Ur So Gay,” “I Kissed A Girl” and a pretty rocking cover of The Outfield’s “Use Your Love,” which she promptly smashed her guitar after playing.

“Did we ruin it?” she nervously asked a stagehand.

“Fuck, we ruined it. Let’s give it to someone, I’ll never play that again.”

Check out a video of our favorite performance of the night, the energetic Queen staple “Don’t Stop Me Now,” above.

None of the three band members are actually in the show, but instead have collaborated to create it.
“When you see a production of We Will Rock You, you can be guaranteed that Brian, Roger and I put it together,” Elton says.
“But I do get a strange pang sometimes and I want to be up there on stage with them.”
Awww!
