Rick Springfield Storms New York

April 4, 2009

Rick Springfield is best known for the infectious 1981 hit that forever changed the dance floor, but last night Poison Ivy discovered there’s an entire catalog beyond “Jessie’s Girl”!

And we love it!!!

Springfield, 59, stormed New York’s Nokia Theatre for nearly two hours Friday, playing masterfully to some 1,100 sweaty, screaming moms with wandering hands.

“If I did that to a girl, I’d get arrested for sexual harassment!” Springfield joked, after a pretty serious grope from a fan.

The rocker belted jams like “Christina,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” and “Wasted,” and even climbed across foldable floor seats (“These are suicide chairs, I swear”) to deliver an in-crowd performance.

Check out a video of Springfield’s rocking take of the classic “Jessie’s Girl,” below. (He even breaks a string!)
