Robin Williams Recovering after Heart Surgery

Robin Williams is recovering well following a successful heart surgery he underwent March 13.

The comedian complained about shortness of breath several weeks ago and was hospitalized in Miami, before ultimately undergoing a three-hour operation on his aortic valve. His recovery time forced him to postpone several dates of his Weapons of Self-Destruction tour. 
Says Williams:
“I can’t wait to get back on the road. I’m thinking the next leg of the tour will be Weapons of Self-Destruction and Reconstruction!”

Robin Williams to Undergo Heart Surgery

Yesterday we reported that Robin Williams was hospitalized for a heart condition, thus postponing his four Florida performances.

Now, news is emerging that Williams will undergo a heart operation to replace his aortic valve, and his tour will be postponed until the fall.
Says Williams in a statement:
“I’m so touched by everyone’s support and well wishes. This tour has been amazing fun and I can’t wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up.”
We can’t wait either, b!

Robin Williams Hospitalized

Robin Williams is in a South Florida hospital being treated for a heart issue, the Miami Herald is reporting.

The comedian, 57, postponed four of his Florida shows, citing “shortness of breath” and doctors who “recommend a week of rest” on his official site.
