Elevating with Jack White

“I’ve never taken a picture in an elevator,” says Jack White, when I run into him at the Gramercy Park Hotel Monday night.

But the White Stripes/Raconteurs/Dead Weather singer is game!

White doesn’t reveal much about his upcoming documentary (The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights) in our chance encounter, or how he and Dead Weather frontlady Alison Mossheart are about to make their TV debut on Conan O’Brien‘s Tonight Show that same Thursday. He just hangs at Rose Bar early on in the night and lets one of his biggest fans ramble about her blog.

Introducing Jack White’s New Superband, the Dead Weather

Photos of Jack White‘s new band, the Dead Weather, featuring The Raconteurs’ Jack Lawrence and The Kills’ Alison Mossheart, have surfaced.

One pic (above) was taken at the band’s secret gig Wednesday night at the Third Man Records headquarters in Nashville.
